Broken Bones Heal into Lasting Friendship

Seniors wide receiver Nick Jones and quarterback Dylan Thompson both hail from the Palmetto State and go way back. A friendship has developed from this cordial rivalry that lies between these two from back in high school. Check out the ‘Beyond the Game’ video of Jones and Thompson here.

Broken bones have healed into a friendship for these two Gamecocks. With their high schools only around 25 minutes away from each other, Dylan Thompson and Nick Jones dueled it out before they were teammates.

“I mean you name it, we know it about each other,” noted senior quarterback Dylan Thompson.

“It’s just good to have that guy out there in big moments.”

Jones came out of high-school as the 91st-best wide-receiver and 3-star prospect by Scout.com. He notched 32 receptions for 347 yards and four touchdowns to help the Rebels claim the AAAA Division I title game as a senior.

Boiling Springs-native Thompson came out of the same high school that produced Carolina quarterback Phil Petty. He was a two-sports star, playing basketball and football. Also, the Boiling Springs High-alum was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas and a 2-star coming into college.

Check out the video on the two Gamecocks, and Thompson’s story on he and Jones’ mishap in high school.
