Tigers impress Peach State ATH

LSU had a top athlete in the 2015 class on their campus last week and it couldn't have gone much better. The Tigers are making a move...

Darius Slayton traveled to Baton Rouge, La. Friday to visit LSU and it went well.

The Scout 300 prospect out of Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian saw LSU for the first time and he had a "nice" time.

He toured the campus, saw the facilities, and got to see a lot of construction going on around the Tiger's campus.

Many things stood out to Slayton, but it was the coaches who stood out the most.

"The coaches stood out the most to me," Slayton said about the visit. "All the ones I interacted with seemed like genuine good people. I was with Coach [Frank] Wilson (Running backs) the most."

Like many programs, LSU is not sure where they want to play the 6-foot-2, 180 pound athlete if it signs him.

At first, LSU talked to Slayton about playing cornerback, but it is now starting to start some about wide receiver.

"We discussed wide receiver some as well [during the visit], but originally it was defensive back. I haven't decided which side of the ball I want to play yet, but it will most likely be among the deciding factors on a school."

LSU is one of just under 10 schools still in contention for the No. 14 cornerback in the country on Scout. He is the No. 112 overall prospect.

Clemson will likely be the next school he visits. He has already spent time at Georgia and South Carolina this summer.

Slayton does not plan to make his decision until the fall.
