Dillan Gibbons is having a nice spring at St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic. Only a freshman, he already has a trio of scholarship offers.
"It's been really crazy. I couldn't even think about," Gibbons said. "Surreal is the best way to describe the way I feel."
Gibbons, 6-foot-5, 278-pounds, plays offensive tackle, just like his older brother Reilly. Reilly was a long time commitment to the University of Miami before signing with Stanford. Dillan has learned a lot from playing with his brother last season.
"It was a great experience," Gibbons said. "He took my under his wings. We went everywhere together. I mean everywhere [visit] he went I went. So I saw a lot of schools."
This Gibbons is a member of the 2017 class. He still has two plus years until his national signing day and much to work on.
"I am working hard in the weight room and lifting three days a week," Gibbons said. "I want to be better at my pass set. Last season I played everywhere but center so I got [varsity] experience everywhere."
Spring ball is winding down for Gibbons. He will next hit some schools, starting with Stanford.
"I will help Reilly move out there and I plan on camping at Stanford while I am there," Gibbons said. "I don't know much about Ohio State, Cincinnati and Louisville but I would like to visit them this summer too. I certainly plan on it."
