The Carolina basketball team hit the hardwood again on Monday night, for a matchup with the Georgia Southern Golden Eagles. After dominating Alabama A&M in an 88-50 win to open the season, USC continued its early non-conference slate with a convincing 90-66 win over GSU. This time, it was an explosive second half from the Carolina offense that opened up with a 16-0 run to pull away.   Full Story

South Carolina has beefed up its schedule in order to enhance its RPI this season and avoid last year’s debacle of being left out of the big dance despite winning 21 games, tying for first place in the SEC East, and going 10-6 in the SEC. But don’t mistake opening opponent Alabama A&M for one of the beefier opponents. The Gamecocks dominated this one from the opening tip.   Full Story

Former South Carolina basketball players Skip Harlicka and Jack Thompson were inducted in the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame on Monday night as the two USC representatives in the eight person class. The pair are widely regarded as two of the best players early in the Frank McGuire era in Columbia, and their winning tradition helped establish a tradition that has carried over to this day.   Full Story
