Location: Lake City, S.C.
High School: Lake City
Position: Running back
Evaluation: Carson is not the biggest back in the world but I don't think that hurts him as a prospect very much as he is very well-built and is strong as an ox I'm told. Carson is not a back that dances around much, but hits the hole hard, makes one cut and takes off. He is very explosive through the hole and has an extra gear at the next level of the defense. Despite his speed, Carson shows a patience not always seen from prospects of his ability as he knows how to allow the play to develop by waiting for the hole to open in front of him. Also a physical runner, Carson displays good pad level, has a compact running style, and doesn't shy away from contact. He is a workhorse back at the high school level and carries his team on his back. He appeared to get stronger as the game went on. While some of his power is probably held in check at the next level, there is something to be said for the physicality in which he plays the game. Carson has a chance to help at the college level both as a back and a kickoff returner. Did not see enough of him catching the football out of the backfield to properly evaluate that part of his game.
Recruiting: Carson has early offers from Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
