Robinson sets announcement

Havelock (NC) offensive tackle Corey Robinson has scheduled a news conference for next Tuesday to announce his college choice. The 6-5, 285 pounder, who is considered by some to be one of the biggest sleepers in the Tar Heel State this year, has openly favored South Carolina for the past several weeks.
Robinson
told
GamecockAnthem.com
that he will announce his decision at a 10 a.m. news conference at his school next Tuesday.
The Tar Heel State lineman camped at
South Carolina
earlier this month, and he left Columbia with a very favorable impression of the Gamecocks' program.
"I really like the coaches, and they're bringing in some good players this year. They brought in some real good players last year. They're a good group of people," said Robinson. "South Carolina is a good school, and they play in the SEC."
According to Robinson, another factor he likes about USC is the style of coaching he would receive from offensive line coach Eric Wolford if he selects the Gamecocks.
"He's very cool. He really pushes you," said the mammoth lineman. "He'll make you better, and if you're not working hard, he'll say something to get you going."
Physically, Robinson has all of the tools college coaches desire in an offensive tackle. He is considered a raw prospect on the football field, but he has a great frame to grow into, possesses huge hands and a very large wingspan, and has pretty good feet for a player his size.
"I run block real good, and I'm an OK pass blocker. Basketball helps me with my footwork and getting my steps quicker," Robinson replied when asked to describe himself as a player. "I just do whatever I have to do. I go hard."
Robinson's only offer up to this point is from South Carolina, but he is receiving interest from North Carolina, NC State, Duke, and East Carolina.
When he announces his college choice on Tuesday, Robinson stated that he will remain firm in that decision until signing day.
"It'll be my final choice."
