Timberland (Saint Stephens, SC) standout offensive lineman Quinton Washington is considered by many to be one of the top offensive guard prospects in the southeast this recruiting year, and the athletic lineman made the short trek to Columbia on Saturday morning to take in South Carolina’s spring practice. How did Washington enjoy his time at USC? Read inside to find out.

Washington, who measures in at an imposing 6’4” and 315 pounds, said he had a very good time at USC on Saturday morning and that he was blown away by how the Gamecock coaches and players made him feel wanted in Columbia.

"I went to USC's practice on Saturday. It was really good. I got to meet most of the players. All the players came over to talk to me after practice was over and they introduced themselves. That was really cool," said Washington. "I talked to the whole coaching staff. They told me that they want me to come in and that I'd be real important to the team. If I come up there, they think I could make a big difference on the offensive line."

The future 4-star offensive lineman got an up-close look at Coach John Hunt working with the USC offensive linemen during practice, and he came away impressed with what he saw.

"Coach Hunt does a great job. It looked like they're going to have a good line this year, a very good line this year."

In addition to South Carolina, Washington also holds offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Clemson, Maryland and N.C. State. When asked if any of the schools pursuing him have started to emerge as a favorite in the race for his services, Washington replied, "Not just yet."

While the elite Palmetto State lineman is keeping his options open at this point, he has a good idea of when he’d like to make a final decision and what factors he’ll consider when making that choice.

"I'll probably make a decision after my football season. It'll probably be sometime around December," he said. "I just want to go someplace where I can feel comfortable, someplace that feels like home. I want to go somewhere I can get my work done and get a good education. I want to graduate."

Washington, who squats 570 pounds and benches 360, is being recruited by Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. for the Gamecocks. He doesn’t have any other unofficial visits scheduled for the near future but does plan to attend Scout.com’s Charlotte combine on May 10.
