Jamal Womble attended camps at North Carolina, Wake Forest and Arizona during the summer and his first official visit will be to Nebraska on September 14 - the weekend of the USC game. "I like the offense and the coaches at Nebraska a lot," he said. "They have really turned it around and are a great team. I love their tradition and history and that they are a well-respected program..."

Jamal Womble, the 5-foot-10.5, 215-pound three-star running back from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Ariz., has already scheduled official visits to South Carolina, Nebraska and Wisconsin, and plans to set one up with North Carolina shortly.

Womble has approximately 20 scholarship offers and denies a favorite amongst the four he plans to visit. "I'm going to commit after I take my four visits," Womble said. "I want to make sure I see it all. I want to compare everything and just see what the best for me is."

"I like the offense and the coaches at Nebraska a lot," he said. "They have really turned it around and are a great team. I love their tradition and history and that they are a well-respected program."

Womble, ranked No. 55 in the Southwest by Scout.com, then visits Wisconsin on November 10 (Michigan game). "I love their tradition too," he said. "They are short-handed at running back and really need more. I think I could fill the void well and get a chance to play early."

On November 24, Womble will visit South Carolina when Clemson is in town for what may be his final official visit. "It's a great area and lot of fun," Womble said. "I like coach Steve Spurrier and he said they really like me. He's a very excited and passionate guy and just seems anxious for the season to start. They said that I'd be a good all-purpose back for them."

Womble says that North Carolina is recruiting him the hardest. "I like coach Butch Davis and it's a great place," he said. "They have a beautiful campus and I think that they'll be improving a lot under coach Davis. I get handwritten letters from like five of their coaches and they even write my parents.

"I also have family all over North Carolina and am pretty familiar with the area."

He reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 1560 SAT.
