Auguste Set For First Visit to USC

Chaminade (Hollywood, FL) 4-star cornerback Akeem Auguste is one of the premier cornerbacks in America this year. Auguste, who possesses great speed and coverage skills, has warranted offers from several top programs around the country, including the South Carolina Gamecocks. Read inside to find out where USC stands with this standout defensive prospect.

Auguste, who measures in at 5'11 and 180 pounds, helped his Chaminade team make a strong push in the playoffs, but his senior season recently came to a disappointing finish.

"We made it to the third round of the playoffs, but we lost 7-3," said Auguste. "I‘d say I did pretty good and had a good season. I don‘t know my final stats though."

On the recruiting trail, Auguste's list of favorites have fluctuated in recent weeks, but he currently claims a top four list of schools.

"The recruiting process is going good. I've got a top four right now of Florida State, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and West Virginia."

Noticeably missing from that group is one of his previous favorites, Pittsburgh, but according to Auguste, they have been replaced by Wake Forest.

"(Wake Forest) has just been showing a lot of interest, and I'm the number one corner on their board."

Now that his senior season is over, Auguste is turning his attention to the recruiting process and has a pair of visits scheduled over the next two weeks.

"I'm going to the West Virginia - Rutgers game (December 2), and South Carolina on December 9."

Auguste, who will visit South Carolina for the first time next weekend, says he is looking forward to his trip to Columbia.

"I'm looking forward to them showing me a good time. I just want to see what they have to offer."

The talented Sunshine State prospect said that he will be looking for a few key factors when making a decision on his college choice.

"The mileage away from home, playing time, and school environment as a whole."

While Auguste may have narrowed his list down to four schools, he does not plan to have a decision anytime soon.

"I'll have it on signing day."
