Trinity Catholic (Ocala, FL) is home to one of the top safety prospects in the southeast this season. Antonio Allen is a 6’2, 190 pound ball-hawking safety who totaled 114 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 5 pass break ups in his junior season. That kind of production did not go unnoticed, and he has already garnered scholarship offers from several top schools.
“
South Carolina
,
Nebraska
,
Ole Miss
, NC State,
Louisville
, and
Clemson
have offered me.
Antonio Allen
, who runs the forty yard dash in 4.5 seconds, currently favors two SEC schools in the race for his services.
“South Carolina and
Florida
, but they (Florida) haven’t offered me yet.”
The head-hunting safety prospect was asked to comment on what he liked about each of his two favorites.
Florida - “I like Florida because it’s close to home, and I’d get a chance to be with my family every now and then."
South Carolina - “At South Carolina I like the coaching staff and the defensive style.“
Allen is teammates with Scout.com 4-star wide receiver
Dion Lecorn
, and the talented duo is planning on visiting South Carolina in the near future, though no date has been set. Allen did, however, give a timeframe for his decision.
“I’m most likely going to make it (a decision) at the end of the season.”
Allen, who claims a 36 inch vertical leap, took the time to describe his strengths as a player.
“I’ve got a nose for the ball, I can find it. I’m also a good open field tackler.”
After helping to lead his Trinity Catholic team to the Florida 2b state title last season, Allen has set a couple of individual goals for his senior campaign.
“I want to have at least 10 interceptions, about the same amount of tackles, and more touchdowns.”
