You win some. You lose some. And some just even out.
Pictures of some of the newbies - day one 2004
This is Matt Raysor today ...
Comments: Matt is a great kid. After speaking with Coach Oliver we are almost positive he is going to be utilized as a defensive tackle from the get go.

This is Marque Hall today ...
Comments: Another great kid with a superior attitude. He is pumped about being at South Carolina and is looking forward to the SEC wars. Really an impressive specimen.

This is Albert Ashcraft today ...
Comments: Albert was perhaps one of the most excited new prospects at Media Day. He has a great personality and is thrilled to be a Gamecock.
Here's a great update shot of DeAdrian Coley - or "Dee Cee" as he is called. He's going about 6-3, 238 right now and he says he is in the best shape of his life. That's good because he is going to be counted on to contribute at linebacker this season.
K. T. Mainord is a big'un to say the least. He will be a defensive end this season. When was the last time you saw defensive ends this size as true freshman? And word is, this young man is quick as a cat and can run.
Speaking of big defensive ends - wait until you see Charles Silas in action. He has lost some weight in an effort to get down to defensive end size. For him that's around 6-5, 295. Like we said, South Carolina is going to be loaded with big defensive ends. Charles is only a junior, and this is his first year to see live game action in the SEC.
Then there is Ducky Doughty. Stanley Doughty to most but he got his nickname "Ducky" from the children's movie, "Land Before Time". Ducky wanted all Gamecock fans to know he is here. He's pointing at you and telling you, "watch me this year, I'm going to make myself well known to Gamecock fans!" By the way, Stanley is down to 6-1, 305. That means he has lost 50 pounds since enrolling last season - and he tells us it has made him a lot quicker.
Here's one of Moe Thompson laughing about the "fitness test" questions. He smoked it and says he is probably in the best shape of his life. He also said "I have not peaked yet, but I'll start to this year and within three years I should be peaking." Sounds like he will not 'peak' until he hits the NFL, but for now he's a Gamecock still ...
Just for the heck of it - Moe Thompson his senior year in high school ...
