New on the scene, Plevon Pryor headed south to Carolina for the Gamecock showcase on Friday. Pryor stands 5-foot-10, 200 pounds for the class of 2016.
As far as the weight room, the strong safety admits he is getting bigger and is looking forward to a championship in his junior season at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Md.
“We’ve gotten close (to a championship), we’re working for it,” Pryor said.
The SS seemed to enjoy his time down south, and he found why they call Columbia ‘Famously Hot’.
“I liked it, except the heat though.”
The Baltimore-native explained he has received many interest letters from various schools, and his high school coach Rashidi Scott notes he’s an honors student athlete who works hard on the field and in the classroom. With a 3.5 GPA, Scott says Pryor offers a ton of talent on and off the field.
Traveling a little under two-hours west, Charleston, S.C.-native John Simpson made his way to the Gamecock Showcase this Saturday. He’s a member of the class of 2016 and stands 6-foot-4, 270 pounds at offensive tackle. The junior is transferring from Stall High School to Fort Dorchester this fall.
