40 Days Until Kick-Off

The University of South Carolina kicks-off against Texas A&M in just 40 days. Take a look at what the Gamecocks have in common with the number 40.

The countdown continues as the Gamecocks gear up for the 2014 football season ahead. South Carolina has received quite a bit of attention early into the game and are expected to be front-runners in the show.

No. 40 Jacob August

The 40-yard dash, a 40-man roster,a 40-40 score in tennis; what ever the case may be, the number 40 is all that stands in the way of the garnet and black returning on the field. In spirit of 40-days left until kick-off, freshman Jacob August represents our No. 40 on the Gamecocks roster.

The Columbia, S.C.-native stands at 6-foot-6, 247 pounds at tight end. Previously, August attended Fork Union Military Academy and was listed as a tight end, wide receiver, punter, and placekicker. The walk-on enrolled and joined South Carolina this past January and adds depth to the roster.

Also, the Gamecocks have another addition to the number 40.
