Check out our exclusive interview with Arnette here:
The cornerback’s decision weighed heavily on building relationships.
South Carolina’s own and St.Thomas Aquinas alum. Al Harris,Jr is close friends with Arnette, and he said they have always kept in touch. The Gamecocks were the first for Arnette to speak with on a college level, and he says they’ve been there since day one.
“There hasn’t been a week that’s gone by, since he offered me back in January, that we haven’t spoken, and that means a lot to me,” stated Arnette.
The cornerback noted after his attendance at the U.S. Army All-American Combine, that’s when colleges starting knocking.
“After that combine, a lot of colleges got a hold of that film”
Arnette said he had around 19 offers from other schools. Just to give you an idea, schools like Florida, Indiana, Nebraska, Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Wisconsin all had extended scholarship offers to the cornerback. The 3-star notes, although he’s committed, he will still be taking that trip to Ohio State July 25th.
Speaking of visits, Arnette certainly has his official visit to Gamecock-country planned accordingly because he’s never been to a game at Williams-Brice. “I plan on taking my official visit to South Carolina when they play Georgia,” stated Arnette.
The Sept. 13th game will definitely play as an excellent first visit, but the cornerback noted he may make a trip up to Columbia some time before that.
