DeBerry enjoys Alabama visit

On Saturday, Ricky DeBerry visited Alabama. Following the trip, the five-star Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher's outside linebacker spoke with Scout.com.

Ricky DeBerry visited Alabama on today and came away impressed.

"It was great – I loved it," said the 6-foot-2, 240-pound DeBerry. "I loved everything about the trip,"

"I got a chance to see the whole campus. I also got a chance to hang out with some of the player. Then I talked with coach (Nick) Saban and met the strength coaches."

He spent a significant amount of time with Crimson Tide's head coach.

"We talked about me as a person and my development as a player," DeBerry said. "We talked about how they would use me in their scheme, too.

"We also talked about what they have done and the reason they're so successful. It was good to sit down and talk to him. Just to sit and talk to him was a great feeling."

DeBerry, who is down to 20 schools, plans to narrow his list to eight in August. He has already stated that North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech will make the cut and Alabama is in good shape as well.

"They're definitely a contender," he said.
