Deke Adams hired as new defensive line coach

Steve Spurrier and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward have named Deke Adams of North Carolina as South Carolina's new defensive line coach.

Less than 24 hours after Brad Lawing left for Florida, South Carolina has found a new defensive line coach.

Steve Spurrier and defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward have named Deke Adams of North Carolina to fill the vacancy.

Adams just finished his first season in Chapel Hill as UNC's defensive line coach.

Prior to his year in Chapel Hill, Adams worked three seasons as a defensive line coach at Southern Miss.

He also spent time coaching at Louisiana-Monroe and North Carolina A&T.

Adams played his college football at Southern Miss.
