Matt Rolin's parents attended South Carolina. His grandfather palyed at South Carolina. And he had friends and family attending the school.
However, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound four-star linebacker from Briar Woods High (Ashburn, Va) decided he wanted to go elsewhere, and Sunday he announced via Twitter he de-committed from the Gamecocks and committed to Florida.
"Going back on my word is something I never imagined myself doing and it hurts me to do it, but in end I have do what's best for me," he wrote on Twitter. "That being said. I would like to let everyone know that I have decommited from The University of South Carolina.
"I would like to thank the Carolina coaches an fans for all the support and hope you understand that I prayed about this an it's best for me.
Rolin than mentioned where he would be attending school.
"I have officially committed to THE University of #Florida," he tweeted. "I will be wearing #9 as I continue to chase my dreams at #Florida."
