Groves is a Gamecock
Ali Groves played free safety for Stephenson for the first four games last year before suffering a season-ending injury, but will play cornerback for the Gamecocks.
"I do a good job of filling the alley on the run," Groves told Scout.com's Vandy Mania in April. "I'm physical. I defend aggressively and go get the ball carrier. When I play I put all of my heart into it."
Groves said in the same interview that he loved the idea of playing in the SEC.
"It's the most competitive league out of all of them, and I like competition," said Groves. "My family stresses education and academics will play a big part in my decision."
Groves reports a GPA of 3.8.
Groves is the Gamecocks' No. 14 commitment of the 2013 class.
