Barry Wright of Coffeyville Community College (Ka.) is a hard-hitting linebacker. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder runs the forty-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He has been timed in the 4.4 ranges. Wright bench presses 420-pounds, squats 525-pounds, and power cleans 325-pounds. He has a 34-inch vertical jump.

Wright hails from Woodam High School in Pensacola (Fla.). During his senior season he recorded 156 tackles and tacked on 14 sacks. Wright earned a first team All-State selection as well as being named to the All-Northwest first team. He red-shirted in 2002 at Coffeyville, he will have three to play three at the college of his choice. Wright plans to enroll in January.

Wright is starting to receive strong interest from major colleges from all around the country. Florida, Florida State, Louisiana State, South Carolina, Clemson, Alabama, Central Florida, Wake Forest, Arkansas, Texas Christian, and many more starting to show interest daily. He has offers from South Carolina and Louisiana State at the present time.

Wright spoke to TheInsiders.com about some of the top teams that he has interest in.

Florida: "I think I would look nice in that orange and blue."

Florida State: "Derrick Brooks is from my hometown, Pensacola. They all used to compare me to him. That's nice being compared to him."

Miami: "As long as I've been watching football I've liked them. You got to have speed to play for them and I've got speed."

South Carolina: "I've got a couple of buddies that go there. That would be nice to go somewhere you know somebody."

Wright did express an interest in moving back closer to home and playing for Florida. If they were to offer, he could end his recruitment make a pledge to the Gators.

When does Wright plan to make his decision and what will be base it on?

"I'm going to take all my visits. I'll make my decision after that. I'm going to look at their depth at my position because I want to play," Wright said.
