Turner is a Gamecock

South Carolina picked up its second commitment of the week when LB Gerald Turner committed to the Gamecocks following a visit for a spring scrimmage Saturday morning.

The 6-foot-1, 230 pound prospect chose South Carolina over offers from Clemson and North Carolina.

"Just committed to University of South Carolina #Gamecocks," Gerald Turner said on Twitter.

When reached for comment by Gamecock Anthem, Turner said he wanted to speak with his head coach Chuck Reedy before doing any interviews.

Turner did say that he had already called his recruiter of record Steve Spurrier, Jr. to commit.

Turner is South Carolina's third commitment for the 2013 class and second of the week after JUCO DE Alfy Hill gave his pledge yesterday.
