Walker injured

OMAHA, Neb. -- A season full of injuries for South Carolina just added another big name to the list. Gamecocks' first baseman Christian Walker, who has played every inning but one there for Carolina this season, is questionable for Monday night's game according to what Ray Tanner told the media Sunday afternoon.

Walker injured his left wrist in his final at-bat of Friday's win over Virginia. The hope was that it would feel better when the team took batting practice today -- it did not.

Walker's chances Monday are now questionable and a final decision will be made tomorrow.

If Walker can't go, then options at first base include Michael Roth, who played there the only inning this season that Walker didn't, and Robert Beary.

Beary has caught every tournament game but the first allowing Brady Thomas, who has played through an injured foot to be the designated hitter. If Beary plays first, Thomas would be forced to catch again.
